Baringo to Statehouse| Former Chief After Trekking for 354km Arrives To Meet President Uhuru

Chief Chebii has arrived!

Joseph Chebii, a former Baringo county chief, did vow to walk from his home to Nairobi, purposely to meet The President, and boy, is he here?

The retired Kimoso location chief says he set off on his journey to the capital, to seek the State President’s aid in constructing a modern-day sports ground in his locality, Kabarnet area.

After trekking for a 354km stretch, Chief Chebii did enter the city on Monday, September, 6, having been on the road for 14 good days.

Ex-Baringo Chief Chebii arrives to meet the president, after 14 days of trekking.

Reliable sources say his mission is to meet the top-of-the-chain government officials, concerning his stadium construction proposal.

This he will begin by meeting first, the Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed, on Wednesday, September 8, as set.

In previous accounts by the former administrator, most youths in the region, following idleness, had resulted into drug and substance abuse and such crimes.

The only challenge on the road is food, but I can’t go look for food. I rely on honey and water to keep me moving. That is what is important now.

It is his hope that he gets a cordial welcome, once at his destination, and that his visit bears fruit.

On Tuesday, I did a very long kilometer, about 40 km. Yesterday was 20km. I’m hopeful the stadium will be built. I do not have any other agenda to discuss with him. We need a stadium for the future generation.
