After accusations and counter-accusations of whether President Uhuru Kenyatta’s security guards slapped Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika on Wednesday or not, the truth is finally out.
Njoro MP Charity Kathambi who was initially mistaken with Uhuru’s bodyguard to be the one who slapped Kihika, has cleared the air on what really transpired.
Kathambi says that the security guards, a man and a woman, ordered MCAs out of the line where the President was set to be received.
“The two ordered that no MCA should be on the line when they came back. The MCAs, despite it being their day obliged and moved away. And when the guards came back, they thought Senator Kihika was also an MCA, prompting the woman officer to slap her,” Kathambi said.
The male security officer had before the slap shouted at Kihika ‘yaani MCAs hamsikii’ as he pushed her away, Kathambi adds.
Earlier on Thursday, Senator Kihika had denied the claims insisting that a post circulating on social media purportedly from her was ‘fake’.
“I have this morning seen the following post making rounds on social media. It’s a FAKE post from a fake Facebook page. Treat it with the contempt it deserves,” she said.
The incident had been mistaken that Kihika was being harassed given for her close leaning towards DP William Ruto who is fast becoming Uhuru’s political arch-rival.
