Coronavirus disrupts English Premier League

Coronavirus has become the daily talk all round the globe. Recently, United States president, Donald Trump declared it as a national emergency. It is spreading in an uncontrolled speed and making it hard for medical experts to control its negative health impacts. They are busy in the labs experimenting the possible measures to mitigate the phenomenon.

England,which is the home of the English Premier league has also been affected at a wider range. The league fixtures has been suspended and rumours are suggesting that they are to resume from 4th April 2020.
Brighton Chief Executive Paul Barber said its very hard to imagine that the league has been suspended. He added that the league’s intention is to play all the fixtures but its really hard to imagine putting on football game in Premier League in 2-3 weeks given the current situation in England.
On Thursday , England Chief Medical Officer ,Professor Chris Whitty said the peak of the United Kingdom outbreak is most likely 10 – 14 weeks away which would be late May or early June. Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta was the first premier league coach to be tested positive with virus . Chelsea player Callum Hudson was the first player tested positive with the virus.
League clubs are set to meet on Thursday after UEFA discuss the fate of Euro 2020.
