Here are the 6 Cabinet Secretaries Uhuru had sacked before Ruto blocked it

DETAILS have emerged on what had transpired before President Uhuru gazette notice was released announcing a mini-cabinet reshuffle that saw Prof George Magoha nominated as Education CS, Amb Amina Mohamed moved to Youths and Sports docket and Rashid Echesa fired.


Reports indicate that Uhuru had sacked a total of 6 Cabinet Secretaries whose dockets bear the recent multibillion shillings mega-scandals that have rocked Uhuru’s administration.

Among them included Henry Rotich (Treasury), Mwangi Kiunjuri (Agriculture), James Macharia (Transport), Simon Chelugui (Water), Charles Keter (Energy) and Eugene Wamalwa (Devolution).

Uhuru is said to have notified DP William Ruto of his notice beforehand where Ruto is alleged to have opposed it strongly seeing it as a scheme engineered by ODM leader Raila Odinga to get rid of his close associates from government.

Ruto, according to the source, demanded evidence for instance why Chelugui, Wamalwa, Keter or Rotich, should be fired after which Uhuru summoned NIS Director Philip Kameru at State House where he is believed to have tabled incriminating evidence against all the mentioned cabinet secretaries.

As for Echesa another Ruto’s associate, Uhuru is said not to have even notified Ruto after the DPP and DCI visited State House and gave him evidence linking the CS with the 32B fake currency leading him to okay his sacking immediately. This is said to have gotten Ruto by surprise.

Ruto is reportedly now very bitter with Raila whom he perceives as the power behind the engine that is making Uhuru have the guts to fire his corrupt cronies from cabinet with little regard to their coalition agreement that formed the Jubilee Party and the subsequent Jubilee administration.
