Former Kakamega gubernatorial hopeful Boni Khalwale has chided Busia Senator Amos Wako after the latter was barred from visiting the United States of America.
Khalwale who alleged that the former Attorney General divided Kenyans in 2005 might be also planning to do again in the coming days through the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
”In 2005, Amos Wako, then AG, mutilated the Bomas Draft into the Kilifi Draft that divided Kenyans down the middle. Today he is at it again through the BBI. All Kenyans must unite & reject any divisive constitutional amendments meant to serve the political greed of a few Kenyans,”tweeted Khalwale.
Wako who is among the committee tasked to make report on the BBI was denied entry to US for allegedly being involved on corruption.
Secretary of State Michael Pompeo who released the statement divulged that the move was to ‘fight corruption’.
“This designation is made under Section 7031(c) of the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2019 (Div. F, P.L. 116-6), which provides that, in cases where the Secretary of State has credible information that officials of foreign governments have been involved in significant corruption, those individuals and their immediate family members are ineligible for entry into the United States,” stated Pompeo
