A section of Jubilee MPs seeking to ‘solemnize’ President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition Chief Raila Odinga newfound love, wants Jubilee Party and ODM merged ahead of 2022 General elections.
The crazy proposal is being spearheaded by the venomous Kitaeleweka team led by Nominated MP, Maina Kamanda.
According to this week’s Sunday Nation, critics argue that the move could further complicate Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
Others reported to be drumming for the new political formation include the little-known Gatanga MP Nduati Ngugi and former Mukuruwe-ini MP Kabando Wa Kabando.
The publication reports that the Jubilee-ODM merger talks have already captured the attention of Ruto and his political allies and are reportedly not pleased at all.
“We folded the United Republican Party (URP), The National Alliance (TNA) party and others to form a coalition with a clear development agenda and succession plan. We have no intention of abandoning this plan and we are in Jubilee to stay,” Kipkelion West MP Hillary Koskei is quoted by the publication as saying.
His Bomet counterpart Ronald Tonui on his part points an accusing finger to Raila whom he has termed as a hypocrite who thrives on crisis.
Tonui, however, notes that the DP would not be looking for political endorsement from anyone because he already have the support he needs to occupy State House after Uhuru’s 2022 exit.
