A young man in Dagoretti, Nairobi caused drama on Wednesday after he confronted Huduma Namba registration clerks in the area demanding that they deregister him from the National Integrated Identity Management System(NIIMS) immediately.
The clerks had it rough in trying to calm the charged man who claimed to be among the first to be registered when the exercise was rolled out nationally almost a month ago and it only took intervention of members of the public to restore order at the centre.
The man said he was out of his senses when he went for the registration adding that his mind is now okay and wants his details erased from the system as the Huduma Namba is ‘satanic’.
“When I was registered I never knew this Huduma Namba is this satanic. I received a vision showing me how those who have registered are seriously suffering,” he barked.
The incident comes even as President Uhuru Kenyatta during the launch of the exercise at Machakos County, lashed out at religious leaders who were discouraging congregants from being registered branding the number as ‘satanic’.
