“Closing schools and institutions of higher learning to curb the spread of corona virus among other measures is a logical and necessary step which deserves support #COVID19,” read the tweet.
Karua’s sentiments came after president Uhuru Kenyatta held a press conference on Sunday evening in Nairobi to announce measures in which the government was putting in place to deal with the disease and advise Kenyans on how to protect themselves from getting infected after two more confirmed cases were reported by the health officials.
It was during his address to the press when the head of state issued a directive that primary and secondary schools to be closed by Monday and the higher institutions of learning by Friday.
