Mudavadi turns down Ruto’s offer, says it is mischievous

Amani National Congress (ANC ) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has recently rubbished Ruto’s approach by terming it ‘cheeky and mischievous’.

Mudavadi said that the current economic crises have been orchestrated by the Jubilee government of which Ruto is the deputy president.

“The economic crisis ravaging the country today has been authored by the Jubilee administration, of which Ruto is a part,” said Mudavadi as quoted by the Saturday Nation (https://mobile.nation.co.ke/news/politics/Mudavadi-Why-I-turned-down-Ruto-job-offer/3126390-5272472-iaulqlz/index.html)

He also poked holes into Ruto’s leadership saying that he has nothing new to offer.

“..Accepting to work with him would allow the continuation of the current ills and miscalculations. He is thus being cheeky and mischievous to ask that we work together. He cannot be the solution of problems manufactured by the administration he is part of,” added Mudavadi.

Words in the streets had it that Ruto had approached Mudavadi in a deal to gun up support for his 2022 presidential bid.

In a lucrative deal, Mudavadi would be unveiled as Ruto’s running mate, as the country’s second in command seeks to rally voters from all parts of the country.

Ruto and Mudavadi have however previously worked together during presidential Moi’s tenure and also in the grand coalition government where they were part of Raila’s ‘pentagon’.
