Elgeyo Marakwet Senator and the leader of majority in the Kenyan senate has today contemplated being appointed the Chief Justice of Kenya.
Murkomen took to his official Twitter account to reveal his dreams; where he posted himself in a chief justice wig and captioned it: ‘ One day’.
The influential politician’s post received mixed reactions, with others supporting his while others simply laughed off his idea.
Canada based lawyer Miguna Miguna asked Murkomen to ‘liberate’ himself from imperialists, saying that the wig was meant for colonialists.
“Throw away that ugly and primitive colonial rag from your head. Liberate yourself, Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen,” tweeted Miguna.
However, a netizen known as
Kibet Ke encouraged the senator, telling him that he is suitable for the job.
“I have hope in you Hon ..Kipchumba….May God fight for you,” tweeted Kibet.
The question however remains: Does Murkomen have what it takes to be the president of the judiciary?
Well, Murkomen’s curriculum vitae is one of the most decorated among leaders in Kenya.
He holds a PhD in law from the Washington College of Law in the United States. He graduated from the institution in 2017.
Moreover, the vocal senator graduated from a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Pretoria, and a prestigious degree in Law from Nairobi University.
His ‘dream’ will remain pending, until current Chief Justice David Maraga retires in 2021.
