As the world continues to grapple with Coronavirus pandemic, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe is appealing to Kenyans to follow simple rules if the country is to beat the virus.

In a passionate appeal to the country, the CS has asked Kenyans to practice social distancing as a sure way to reduce the spread of the disease.

While using the United States of America and Italy as examples, the CS said that the Coronavirus situation in those countries is enough to confirm that the pandemic should not be taken lightly.

” Italy 7k died in 50 days, Iran 2k died in 15 days. Thanks to revelers ignoring state warnings,” he said in a social media post.

” I will say it again, please be disciplined and stop courting the disaster. Our lives are more meaningful than the 18k the world has lost to Corona,” he added.

CS Kagwe’s comment comes at a time the government has put in place a raft of measures to combat the spread of the disease.

Maintenance of hygiene and staying indoors are some of the directives the state has given as a measure to control the spread, with total lockdown seen by many as the best option when need arises.
