Amid reports that at least 17 Members of Parliament and Senate have tested positive for Coronavirus, Siaya Senator James Orengo has come out openly to share his status
While confirming his Covid-19 status, the Siaya Senator stated that he was tested last Friday and that he is negative, even as he attached the medical report from the doctor.
” took a voluntary COVID-19 test on Friday last week. The result was directly conveyed to me in person by a doctor. Tested Negative. It is my civic duty to continue complying with guidelines. It’s not a matter of choice. At the same time, parliament cannot abdicate. Chew gum & walk,” he tweeted.
Orengo’s move to publicly declare his Covid-19 status comes at a time there are fears that a good number of Parliamentarians could have contacted the deadly virus after coming into contact with Rabai MP William Kamoti who has tested positive for the disease.
This comes even as Kenya confirmed seven more COVID-19 cases, taking the total to 179.
