Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has sought to add his voice on the ongoing stalemate of over 700 students from Moi University who are likely to miss in next week’s graduation.

Owino, who is the Chairman (Emeritus) of the Kenya Union of Students’ Organizations has called on Moi University VC Prof Isaac Kosgey to resign over the issue while demanding that the affected students be added on the graduation list.

“I demand that the Vice-Chancellor of Moi University Prof Isaac Kosgey takes responsibility for this unprecedented failure and tenders his resignation with immediate effect,” Owino wrote on his Facebook account on Thursday.

The outspoken MP regretted that the 700 students will merely fail to graduate because of administration issues which he called on the university senate, led by Chancellor Hon Miriam Were to start an investigation on.

He has now given the university 7 days to resolve the matter or else he will forward them to the Speaker to summon them before the Education Committee.
