Pastor Jailed for 140 years after impregnating daughters

Kirinyaga pastor who pleaded guilty to defiling and impregnating two of his daughters has been sentenced to 140 years in prison.

The 51 year old man was before Senior Principal Magistrate Anthony Mwicigi at Baricho law courts where he was charged with defiling and impregnating his 16 year old daughter now a mother to a seven month old baby girl and his 14 year old daughter who is six months pregnant.

He was arrested in Mbeere South, Embu County where he had gone into hiding disguising himself as a herder from Somalia in search for employment before residents became suspicious of him and reported to the authorities.

The pastor identified as HB to protect identity of the victims, was charged with a first count of defiling and impregnating his 16 year old daughter on diverse dates between 1st June and 30th June 2019 while the second count was committing the same act on his second daughter between 1st to 31st August 2019 all at Kinyakiiru village, Kirinyaga west sub county

On January 5th 2021, he pleaded guilty to the offences, much to the surprise of many, assenting that they were his daughters and that he committed the offence pleading for forgiveness from his family and the court on claim that satan had misled him.

Hospital reports from Sagana Sub County Hospital on the minors were tabled as evidence by the prosecution while birth certificates presented to affirm they were minors attached with police reports.

While reading the sentence, Mwicigi said the accused deserved a heft punishment for abusing his position as the girls’ father to destroy lives of his own flesh and blood.

He slapped him with 70 years imprisonment for each offence.
