The sad state of Arror and Kimwarer dams has been revealed.
If photos posted by lawyer Donald Kipkorir are anything to go by, then Arror and Kimwarer residents are in double tragedy; raging fires of corruption and no water to quench their thirst.
The sites point at a pale shadow of the project, even as taxpayers’ money totalling to 63 Billion ran to the drains.
Kipkorir unraveled one of the country’s biggest scam, blaming it on mafias and ‘witchcraft’.
“Today, I flew over the Kshs. 63B Kimwarer Dam ….. And I just confirmed we live in a Mafia State! How you pay out Kshs. 21B when nothing had been done on site, even a site office can only be witchcraft!,” tweeted Kipkorir on Saturday evening.
In agreement with the lawyer, an online user identified as Kennedy Atinda opined that corruption has put Kenya on the global map of shame.
“corruption is worse than prostitution. The latter endangers the morals an individual ;the former invariably endangers the morals of an entire country ” We are loosing it as nation ;we are loosing the grips of integrity before the entire world,” replied Kennedy.
The scam was blamed on senior government officials, among them former treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich.
Rotich has since stepped down to pave way for investigations. His position has been taken by former Marsabit governor Ukur Yattani in acting capacity.
