An aide to Raila Odinga has rubbished claims that the former premier was hospitalized at Agha Khan.
Blogger Dennis Itumbi had revealed that Raila was undergoing treatment at the Nairobi based hospital, taking on his Facebook page to wish him well.
“This is not a great week for former PM Raila Odinga. I wish him quick recovery. Sickness comes to us all. Aga Khan hospital asante for the treatment. May God relieve him of the pain and heal him too,” posted Itumbi.
Itumbi’s claims have however been dismissed as untruthful, with Raila’s assistant saying that the ODM party leader even hosted leaders on Saturday.
“That’s untrue and those peddling lies should stop. He is okay. Just because he hasn’t appeared in public doesn’t mean he’s sick. He even hosted a Nairobi delegation at his Karen home on Saturday,” said the aide.
Raila, who has been hitting top headlines has this week been very calm, perhaps resorting to closed door meetings.
He is also expected to head to Kibra constituency to add weight to his party’s candidate Imran Okoth, in a by-election set for November.
“PL @RailaOdinga & Mama @IdaOdinga yesterday hosted the leadership of the party from Nairobi County at their residence in Karen. They discussed the ongoing campaign in a Kibra with the aim of ensuring the party retains the seat. County Chair Hon. George Aladwa led the delegation,” tweeted ODM party on Saturday.
