Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has joined Gor Mahia in mourning Juma Toto, a man credited at composing the club’s anthem.

“The death of legendary rhumba singer Juma Toto has robbed the country, Africa and the music industry of one of its most gifted and prolific musicians. I join Juma’s fans in mourning his sudden death. May God grant peace and strength to his family at this moment of grief,” tweeted Raila.
Juma succumbed at Kenyatta National Hospital ICU where he was recuperating after a head surgery done last week.
It is reported that Toto slipped and fell, with his head hitting a pavement slab in his home located at Nairobi’s Jerusalem Estate last week.
His demise at 70 is definitely sad news to football club Gor Mahia, and his family.

“We are sad to announce that Juma Toto died last night at Kenyatta Hospital while undergoing treatment,” his niece Dorcas Odumbe was quoted by the Standard.
