The security team of Bahati Member of Parliament, Kimani Ngunjiri has been withdrawn by the government. The law maker who is also Deputy President William Ruto’s ally also surrendered his rifle on Tuesday at the police station.

While addressing the press, Ngunjiri claimed that he is being intimidated because of his support for Dp Ruto. “I know my security team and firearm have been withdrawn to silence me but I will not be intimidated by the government. My bodyguard has been withdrawn and recalled to Nairobi,” said Ngunjiri.

This comes a day after the National Police Service spokesperson Charles Owino said that the government will withdraw security of VIPs  involved in crime until they are cleared by the court.

The legislator was summoned following his last week’s remarks that deputy president William Ruto had been kicked out of his official residence in Mombasa.

This also comes days after Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria’s security was withdrawn. Kuria has earlier promised to expose the people behind the killing of Chris Msando. “I am sick and tired of people connecting me to the murder of Chris Msando. I will address the media on Monday, January 20,2020 at 3 PM on this issue”, he wrote on Saturday 19.
