Mike Sonko celebrates adopted Son

Moses Gift Osinya the boy adopted by Former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko in a heart wretching circumstances has finished his High School Education.

His adopted dad Mike Mbuvi Sonko  posted a celebration and thanksgiving message on facebook after his son finished his KCSE examinations.

“So today, was again a moment of great joy and a big milestone for us as a family when master Gift Osinya completed his KCSE at Lenana School,” he posted.

My son Gift am so proud of you and truly grateful to God for the blessings you have been in our lives

He termed the boy and his brother as blessings in his life and his family adding that doors he never thought were capable of opening , paved way when the two boys came into his life.

Gift was adopted alongside his baby brother  Satrine Osinya after the heartbreaking photo of him holding him with tears flowing from his eyes following the cruel death of their mother in the hands of terrorists in 2014.

When Alshabab attacked worshippers in Jesus Repentance Church in Likoni, Mombasa County with guns and bullets, they left many injured but six people were dead, among them was  Veronica Atieno, the boys’ mother and a bullet was lodged in the head of her then 18 month old boy Satrine

Doctors believed the bullet which killed her while she was shielding her son might be the same bullet that exited her body and entered her little son’s head.

The photo of Gift tightly holding on to  his younger brother, Satrine, with tears went viral eliciting emotions and  compassion  from Kenyans.

The baby Satrin was airlifted to Nairobi where  the bullet was successfully removed from his head.

This is how the then Senator for Nairobi Mike Sonko  and his wife came in and they boys became part of his family.

Moses Gift sat for his KCPE Examinations in 2016  and scored 399 marks securing a position at one of Kenyas top schools Lenana High school.

Kenyans on social media showered praises and blessings upon the Sonko for changing the lives of the two boys who had been orphaned.
