Largest betting site sportesa has responded over a government decision to shut down their payment systems. On Friday, sportesa through official statement term the directive as malicious action by Betting Control and Licensing Board.
According to the giant gambling site statement, the decision was abrupt stating it demoralize customers and business. They noted that prejudicial process that was taken by the regulator can bring the industry down and has a negative impact on the social and economic agenda of Kenya.
“Sportpesa has been fully compliant with all tax and legal requirements in Kenya. Our business has uniquely and consistently boosted sports and development in the country and we have minced our support in the community investment.
“This as witnessed by our widespread impact in areas such as football, boxing, rugby and social projects involving water access, environment and skills uplift in the country. There are now at severe risk following the measure taken by BCLB, ” the statement read
Furthermore, the company assured its customers that they are working round the clock to make sure the issue is resolved.
