Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has proposed that any Kenyan found culpable of engaging in corruption be jailed for life.
Onyonka said that soon MPs will pass a law in parliament which will see corrupt individuals sent to jail for life.
The vocal MP allied to Ford Kenya Party backed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s stand on the anti-graft war saying that no one is above the law to continue stealing public money.
“No corrupt Kenyan should be spared in the fight against corruption including President Uhuru’s closest political allies. Kenya should be a country free from corruption,” said Onyonka.
Onyonka maintained that loss of public funds means there will be no development.
“Our people will continue being poor because taxes will hike for the country to recover stolen money,” noted Onyonka.
Onyonka who was speaking on Wednesday at Mosocho in Kisii County, also warned those who have been fighting the DCI and EACC.
“We don’t want to continue seeing some leaders publicly opposing the work of DCI, DPP and EACC. As leaders and more particularly we the MPs, should be in the forefront in the anti-graft war because at the end of the day we are the ones who cry foul whenpublic money meant to initiate projects is stolen,” Onyonka said.
