Vybz Kartel ,Adidja Azim Palmer, Jamaican dancehall artiste, has recently lost the appeal case but fairly the sentence might be reduced.
Vybz Kartel was together with three other co-convicts ; Shawn Storm, Andre St.John and Kahira Jones charged with life imprisonment for the murder of Clive ‘Lizard ‘ Williams and his body never found.
A 3-member panel of judges at the Jamaican Court of Appeal who included ; Frank Williams, Dennis Morrison and Patrick Brooks affirmed the 2014 murder conviction of Kartel and the three co-convicts but they have given defence attorneys 7 days to submit documents and information for them to consider a reduction in sentence for the convicted men.
Kartel’s lawyer argued that he did not get a fair trial.Kartel was sentenced to 35 years before eligible for parole and the others 25 years.
The verdict was delivered over a conference call with Attoneys and Prosecutors involved in the appeal in light of the ongoing Covid -19 pandemic.
Vybz Kartel’s Attoney , Valerie Neita Robinson said that the team will be approaching the Privy Council in London to secure the artiste’s acquittals.
