WASHENZI MTANIWACHA!LET ME BE UHURU SAYS
President Uhuru Kenyatta has told off critics to let him speaking in Mombasa the President called those individuals “washenzi” a Swahili word meaning barbarous.
His remarks are believed to be addressed to Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria who during an end of year party criticized the President saying that he has not brought any development project to the Mt Kenya region which overwhelmingly voted for his second term.
Addressing locals during the launch of the Sh460 million Mama Ngina waterfront project in Mombasa, the President said that development projects will not be done in a given region just because a leader is from a certain region insisting that it is the right of every Kenyan citizen to get development regardless of where they are in this country.
While in Mombasa President Kenyatta shared a light moment with Hon. Raila Odinga who is one of the principals of the National Super Alliance and the African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa who was celebrating his 74th birthday in the presence of the President as well as Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho among other leaders from the area.
The President said, “I am happy to be in Mombasa with my brother Raila Odinga. I wish him a happy birthday.”
This cordial relationship between the two follows the reputable handshake between the two where they purposed to unite Kenyan which had begun to disintegrate along tribal lines and political alignments.
