Wiper Democratic Movement’s party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his FORD kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula have today struck a deal that will see the duo support Wetangula’s Engineer Khamisi Butichi in the Kibra by-elections.
Wetangula paid Kalonzo a courtesy call, where the plot to gang up against Raila’s ODM was unveiled.
The duo recounted the past political steps they had taken, with Kalonzo expressing gratitude for Wetangula over his recent successful backing of Wiper’s candidate in Embakasi South.
“Ford Kenya and its leadership stood by our candidate in the Embakasi South by-election and we can’t take it for granted. My brotherhood with senator Wetangula too started in the 1980s when I joined politics,” Kalonzo said.
It is their ‘brotherhood’ that Wetangula says will pay back in November 7 th.
” Our candidate is the strongest and from the all gathered information I can assure my brother Kalonzo that this Kibra seat is no more a dream but we will carry the day,” asserted Wetangula
The revelation will certainly threaten to widen rifts in opposition alliance NASA.
While campaigning for ODM candidate Imran Okoth, the party’s Secretary General Edwin Sifuna accused other sister parties of being ‘backstabbers’ over fielding candidates in a seat originally occupied by ODM.
Sifuna also revealed that he was under party leader’s Raila Odinga directive to dissolve NASA after the by-elections.
However, FORD Kenya’s Secretary General Dr. Simiyu Eseli told off ‘clueless’ Sifuna, saying that at least 3 parties are required to pull out for the coalition to collapse.
