Malindi Member of Parliament has taunted her Suba South counterpart John Mbadi after he was booed during the burial of their colleague Ramadhan Suleiman Dori on Monday evening.
“It’s such shame for the second-highest position in Kenya to hide criminals,” the MP said during the burial of Msambweni MP held at his home village of Gasi in Kwale County.
The remarks attracted the wrath of mourners who booed him as leaders asked him to stop politicking.
Jumwa accused Mbadi of disrespecting the dead and Muslim traditions by bringing ‘juvenile politics’ at a burial of a colleague.
“It was so unfortunate for the the ODM party Chair Hon. Mbadi to invoke the name of William Ruto at the late Hon. Dori’s burial at Msambweni. Let’s respect the dead and Muslim culture! Juvenile politics is uncalled for,” tweeted the vocal legislator, who is a fierce defender of Ruto.
Dori succumbed to cancer while undergoing treatment at Aga Khan Hospital in Mombasa County early Monday morning.
His burial was attended by top leaders who included Governors Salim Mvurya (Kwale), Amason Kingi (Kilifi) and Kwale Senator Issa Juma Boy and Lamu Woman Representative Ruweida Obbo.
National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale was also present and was accompanied by his colleagues; William Kamoti (Rabai), Kassim Tandaza (Matuga), Michael Kingi (Magarini), Mishi Mboko (Likoni), Omar Mwinyi (Changamwe), among others.
