Why ‘Barnamiji ya Gerezani’ girl could end up in jail

The ‘Barnamiji Ya Gerezani’ raped girl might have been actually raped but lied in hope to free the father, Millie Odhiambo has said.

“The girl could end up in jail if she confesses before police or a magistrate” Says Hon Millie Odhiambo.

In an interview session with NTV ‘Wicked edition’ host Doctor Kingori, Hon Millie Odhiambo, Suba North Mp, Vocal feminist and professional lawyer said that the girl might have actually been raped but feels guilty for ‘life imprisoning’ her father or is maybe facing after rape stigma in the outside world.

The girl confessed on Citizen TVs show “Barnamiji Ya Gerezani” or “prison diaries” to her father, who is now behind bars in Kamiti Maximum prison for the rest of his life for raping a minor, that her mother forced her to lie that her father had assaulted her sexually so that she could take all her dad’s property after he was jailed.

Hon Millie Odhiambo stated that the girl request serious legal advice and counselling, since such a confession could easily pave her way to jail for false accusation.
