Why MT Kenya TV may be closed soon!

Mt Kenya TV may be soon closed following the cash strains in the once supposed to be the leading media house. Our MKN reporter has since learnt that those who made the wrong move and jumped to the drowning ship are now contemplating resignation with Simon Ngure previously from inooro tv a Nakuru correspondence downing tools at Mt Kenya tv.Muthungutho hosts a top show hosted by Nonsizi Agnes’s formerly from Kameme tv and Dj Macdee have not reported to work for a week and are said to follow his footsteps.Kameme tv is also said to come for their lead political affair reporter Mwaura wa Ndung’u and Wanjugu wa Wacira a features story lady with others already knocking at Inooro tv for come back including Monicah Kagoni who has since apologised for leaving the communication centre with haste and disrespect, the morning show producer Mary Wacuka is also contemplating moving back to Inooro Tv as it is now almost three months since everyone was paid their salaries.

Our mole at the station tells us that the situation is so dire that some employees are now cohabiting as their houses have been locked due to unpaid rent.Going to sleep on an hungry stomach is not news any more to the employees of Ngirichi a man who had previously boasted how wealthy he is and as such he would run the station for two years with no advert.Ngirichi seems to have eaten a humble pie as he has understood running a media house requires serious money and patience. We at MKN we are asking the Media council of Kenya (MCK and Kenya Union of Journalists to intervene and make sure the said employees are settled. This hardship is even breaking many families as those who used to be bread winners can’t afford the same today.

The said station is now depending on interns to do all the stories as many serious reporters are on go slow with the few going to work for fear of being sacked.
