Nkuru Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) is continuously facing challenges due to “Kieleweke” and “Tangatanga” politics.
The ralies which had been seen as successful in other regions like Western Kenya, Mombassa and Kitui counties may not report the same in Nakuru and Eldoret counties for what some politicians are terming as “hijackers plot”. The allies of Deputy president William Ruto, recently called The “Tangatanga” movement vowed to take full charge of the event in Nakuru,.Some even proposed that The former Prime Minister Raila Odinga should not attend the rally for allegedly hijacking the process.
The President H.E Uhuru Kenyatta visited the county and charged the nakuru governor, Hon Lee Kinyanjui with the responsibility to lead the BBI rally. It is possible that the President will be the guest of honor to the event, hence reducing the influence of Raila Odinga in the event as it happened in other counties.
The leaders of the rift valley region urgue that it is important for the DP to attend the event for the purpose of inclusivity of the Rift region. On an interview in Citizen TV,on Wednesday March 4 2019,Senate majority leader ,Kipchumba Murkomen argued that should there be unwanted politics in the rally, the xroud will leave the stadium as it happened in Kinoru Stadium,Meru BBI Rally.
