Telco company, Safaricom, has been put on spot over its ongoing ‘Kochokocho’ promotion which some social media users have termed as a ‘scam’.

By G. Daniel

This is after several users confirmed receiving winning messages from Safaricom with the amount of money won looking like a child’s play.

One Twitter user by the name Rose Kamau on Saturday posted a screenshot of the Safaricom message she received earlier congratulating her for winning Sh1.50 worth of airtime in the ongoing promotion.

The message goes on to say that there are over 100 millionaires and she could just be next winner.

Following the tweet, other users confirmed receiving similar messages, some with even lower amounts. Here are some of the tweets we sampled for you.

@eliud_btwo: @SafaricomPLC ,to all who are the potential customers of safaricom will keep on seeing a lot of notifications of promotion ,that safaricom has to it’s customers but it’s null and void ,nothing like that you will never win neither see you friend who u know being the wnr.

@habdi899: Safaricom should stop this nonsense called shukrani kochokocho promotion because they are telling us 2million pple won and i have not seen a single person from my entire clan and friend win anything.kochkocho is just another scandal. #stopkochokochopromotion.

@DavisWispers: #ShukraniWakenya. Thousand of Kenyans have never won anything from safaricom or your promotions ni scam.
